Serah couldn't look up to scared to see the look in Snow's eyes. What would he do once he finds out. She couldn't smile or laugh like she used to. It was as if her energy just drained from her. all that was left was sadness and fear. Fear of the future..... fear of harming the ones she loved. That was her fate.
Why did she have to enter those ruins, why couldn't she wait outside? Her life changed from just one mistake one that she couldn't take back. She couldn't let anyone else carry this burden not her sister or Snow this was hers alone.
"Snow....." She spoke his name softly still not looking up, but got to her feet and stared out at the horizon as she gathered the words she feared to speak. "We can no longer see each other.... we can no longer be together."

Snow
Snow looked t Serah, but she seemed scared to let her eyes reach up to meet his gaze. Serah...scared of...him? It didn't make sense, Serah had never been scared to tell him anything, but now, she was hesitating, like she was fearful of telling him something. He watched her intently, but then she spoke his name. She spoke again and his mouth dropped open in shock. Never had he expected her to say something like that!
"Serah...wait!" He shook his head, confused, yet she seemed to be determined. The fear in her eyes didn't match her voice however. "I don't understand...why?! Why can't we see each other anymore?" He didn't want to not be around her, he loved Serah. "Did Lightning tell you that you couldn't see me anymore?"
Cringing, he looked down, "I didn't...please Serah...I don't want to be without you! I love you!" Looking down at his hands, he gulped. Ultimately, Serah could decide that they shouldn't see each other, but he never wanted that to happen. "Please...I don't ever want to stop being with you...but at least tell me why we can never be together..." He wasn't going to just leave Serah. He loved her, and wanted to be by her side, no matter what she was going through.
It was something big if she had decided that! She would never just tell him that, he loved her, and he was sure that she loved him. But why?! Why all of a sudden did she decide they couldn't me together. "Serah...please tell me whats going on!"

Serah looked down at the ground. Her tears formed and dropped. No longer could she hold them in the pain or sadness. "It has nothing to do with Lightning....." She turned gathering words trying to explain but how was she going to do that.
Explain to the man she loved that now they were enemies. Her heart ached with pain as she gasped for words she collected her thoughts and turned to face Snow. She couldn't lie not to him, he had to know the reason. Her gaze lowered and fixed on her hand as it covered her make hesitantly lowering it to reveal her fear.
"This symbol....... its the mark of the I'Cie..... an enemy to Cocoon..... an enemy to humanity" She managed to say glancing up to see his expression. Now he would know and understand why.

((Lightning...I think you can come in after this! )) Snow
Snow’s heart felt pain when the tears fell from Serah’s eyes. He squeezed her hand gently, relieved that it wasn’t about Lightning. Though they didn’t see eye to eye, he didn’t want to cause Serah any pain by arguing with her sister. Lightning meant a lot to Serah, and vice versa. He didn’t make a sound, but stroked her hair, trying to sooth away the pain she was feeling.
When she gasped, trying to find the words to tell him her pain, he blinked hard. He saw her gaze go to her hand, his own gaze followed hers as she lifted her hand from her arm. His eyes opened in surprise, no words came out. He was shocked, never in his life would he have imagined this why they couldn’t be together. One of the I’Cie?! But how could that be? He knew very well the curse the I’Cie were supposed to be, feared by all because they were the unknown. Yet, looking at Serah, he couldn’t find anything even slightly resembling a monster as the I’Cie were made out to be.
“Serah…what? How? When?” Questions ran through his mind, but knowing Serah, he stopped thinking about that. After the shock slightly wore off, he felt a burning desire to make her smile, to wipe the tears from her face. “Serah…you aren’t an enemy…how could anyone think so?” Taking his hand, he placed it over her mark. “Serah, don’t cry, everything will be alright! I will always be here for you!” Pulling her hand up, he smiled gently at her. “Serah…I don’t ever want to be without you, we belong beside each other…even if you are a member of the I’Cie! I love you!”

Lightning arrived at the ruins faster than expected now she had to find her sister. She turned around scanning her surrounding for any sign of Serah. She knew her sister always loved to go there. Lightning knew her Serah always enjoyed spending her time thinking about the history and mystery that surrounded the ruins.
Those ruins no one knew where they came from or who built them and why in Cocoon? They were filled with mystery that attracted so may towards them. Fieldtrips and tours were planned to that place. Lightning disliked the idea though of even being close to those ruins. Even if it was just a guess Lightning believed that those ruins were built by the Pulse faI’Cie, enemy to their world which the government strived to keep citizens away from them.
It was her job to invigilate everyone there. Anyone who might have came into contact with the Pulse fai’Cie were considered enemies to the world and abandoned on Pulse. Although Lightning never understood why she never questioned her orders and focused on her duties as a soldier.
Out of fear for Serah Lightning did warned her of the dangers she believed to surround that place and asked her sister to be careful on her visits and not to get too close to the ruins.

She glanced down as more tears fell down her eyes. Serah could no longer hold the pain in. How.....? She didn't listen to her sister's warning or anyone else that told her to stay away from the ruins. She let her curiosity control her and entered the ruins when she knew she shouldn't. When she came to her senses it was already too late.
"I am a I'Cie.... danger to us all if anyone finds out, if Lightning I....." What would she tell her sister? What would she do she couldn't show her her mark. Lightning worked for the government of Cocoon, what would she think or do once she finds out her sister became one of her enemies....
"Snow...." She glanced up to look at him as he wiped her tears. He still wanted to be with her regardless of the fact she was an enemy to the world now. Tears fell down on her cheeks and all Serah could do was hug him as she stoop there sobbing in silence.

Snow Villiers
Snow shook his head, blue eyes watching as she started breaking down all the way. He wasn’t the best with words, but he would never leave Serah, for anything or anyone. He started considering the fact however, of how Lightning would react. He was almost 100% sure she wouldn’t be angry, but then again, one never knew with Lightning. He knew she would probably try to kill him and take him to the government if he turned into one of the I’Cie, but since it was Serah…how could she ever hate her?
He thought it was impossible for her to be angry with Serah at all, unless it involved the fact that she was with him. “Serah…I will not let anyone harm you! How could they possibly think that you are a danger to cocoon?” In that moment he started to despise those that thought of the I’Cie as monsters. Yet, how many of them actually knew anything? Probably no one, their minds were all diluted with the thought that since they were different, they must be out to harm them.
Shaking his head, he looked into her eyes. His own were full of emotion, he couldn’t believe that this had happened to Serah…what had she ever done to deserve this?! Nothing! She had never done anything to deserve this! He knew the fate of the I’Cie, and he didn’t like thinking about it at all! Holding his hand on the back of her head, he held her close as she started sobbing.
He didn’t know why, but he wasn’t going to just stand around and do nothing. He was going to find a way for her to be rid of the I’Cie curse! He would find a way to be with her, no matter the costs. Telling himself that, he didn’t say anything more as he cradled her in his arms, holding her tightly, he wasn’t about to let her go. No matter what she would say to get him to leave, saying she was an enemy of the world, that he would become one as well, he would never leave her! He was where he belonged; right there next to her…if only Lightning could realize that was true…“I’m never going to leave you Serah…”

Even with what she was now Snow still stood by her side, he still wanted to be with her. Would it be the same for Lightning.....? Would she forgive her for becoming a I'Cie and still care for her? No she was an enemy to Cocoon, to the world.... to humans how can she or anyone forgive her.
"Snow....." words just wouldn't come out what more could she say? "I am a I'Cie we can't be together anymore." Those words only brought tears to her eyes. Her life was over everything was over for her. That was the fate of the I'Cie and once the world knew of this she would be hunted down like all the rest her life as she knew it was over.
Never going to leave....Those were his words and they made Serah glance up to look at Snow as he held her close. "Never....." even with all that happened he still wanted her to be with him. Serah moved closer to hug him as she continued to sob.

Lightning continued to scan her surrounding for any sign of her sister. She knew without a doubt Serah would be there but where? Could she have gotten into some kind of trouble? Lightning warned her sister countless times to be careful when ever she ventured into this place. She disliked the fact of her sister coming here. To her this place was just too dangerous for anyone. Why would anyone be interested in those old ruins anyways ? If it was up to her they would be destroyed.
She continued her search and finally found her Serah, but she wasn't alone... was that Snow? Lightning clung her fists in anger didn't she warn him to stay away from Serah or else. He didn't listen he never listened, but she was going to make sure he did one way or the other.
Getting closer she saw the tears in her sisters eyes. Did he hurt her? This only added to her anger as she moved closer and punched him after pulling Serah away. "I warned you not to hurt her or be anywhere near my sister." She yelled lifting her fist up ready for another punch if he tried or said anything more to provoke her.

Snow stayed with Serah, cradling her in his arms. He didn’t say anything, just held her, his hand on her head, stroking her hair, comforting her. He swayed a little bit, rocking her back and forth, He heard her speak, but shook his head. He wasn’t ever going to let her go, not for anyone or anything. No matter what happened he was going to be by her side, helping her out, just being with her, supporting her. He didn’t care what anyone said, he belonged with her, and she with him. He loved her, everything about her, I’Cie or not!
Nodding, he repeated slowly what he had told her. “Never…” He spoke softly, just being there with Serah, he wanted to comfort her. Listening to her sobbing, he stroked her back with gentle yet firm hands. He held her firmly, yet he was never gentler then he was with Serah. He wondered what would happen, yet If he was with Serah, nothing else mattered.
And then from the corner of his eye, Snow saw Lighting coming. The expression on her face wasn’t one of happiness, but he wasn’t concerned about her, though he should have been. Suddenly Serah was dragged from his arms and his eyes changed. His anger came, what was that crazy woman thinking?! As he started to get up from sitting on the ground, Lightning’s fist came out of nowhere, hitting him. He wavered, but didn’t fall all the way back. He shook his head and placed his hand on his jaw. “I didn’t hurt Serah! I won’t stay away from her and you know that! I’m not just going to run away because you told me to Lightning!” He was now standing up, his eyes glaring into Lightning’s own eyes. She looked angry…but that was an understatement. He glanced at Serah, only concerned about her. He was prepared for another punch, and he wouldn’t be so surprised if she did punch him again.

Serah cried there in his arms her eyes closed at the thought of becoming a I’Cie just broke her. Her life was over. She could never have a normal life or even a future. An enemy of Cocoon, a tool of the fal’Cie that’s what she was now and no matter what she did she couldn’t escape that fact. What would happen when others find out about this? "Snow….." She couldn’t stop her tears and cried there with him by her side until she felt someone pull her away.
Serah opened her eyes to see her sister there. "Lightning…." Serah gasped instantly hiding her mark. She couldn’t tell her what happened, Serah was scared and didn’t know how Lightning would react to this, would she turn against her…. Hate her for what she was now?
She expected her sister to be angry but not to the extent of punching Snow "No Lightning…." Serah cried moving to stand between the two after seeing her sister prepare for another punch. "He didn’t hurt me he is here to help…. Please don’t….."

Lightning aimed ready for a second punch when she jumped between them. The last thing she expected was to find Serah there crying in the arms of the man she despised. She wanted nothing more than to kill Snow at that moment, but the look in her sisters eyes and her tears only made Lighting pull her fist back.
Looking a Serah she could tell some thing was definitely wrong and she was she hiding something from her? The way Serah avoided eye contact showed it but what could it be why was she here crying? It worried her but Lightning placed the blame on Snow. To her that man could never protect Serah or even make her happy which was why she tried everything to keep him away from her. She turned to glare at Snow the last one she wanted to see was him and with her sister, that only added to her anger but she managed to contain it. 'Serah cried enough already' she thought knowing her sister rarely did unless it was something terrible.? "If he didn't hurt you then who did...?"

Snow Villiers
Snow didn’t move, his breathing was rapid, his eyes on Lightning’s, telling her to stop. She didn’t seem like she was going to though, so he prepared himself for her going crazy on him. He heard Serah speak, and then she ran in front of Lightning, blocking her from him, and him from her. He could see the change in Lightning when that happened. He saw that she had hidden her mark, and he cringed for Serah. She was scared to death that Lightning was going to hate her for being a member of the I’Cie. He didn’t think she would, but he didn’t know Lightning as well as Serah did either. He stood, his chest heaving a little bit, his hands curled into fists.
He listened to Serah’s voice, telling Lightning that it wasn’t him that had hurt her. He remembered only a few short minutes ago asking her if Lightning had done something to upset her. He wished he could tell Lightning something, say something to get her to calm down, but he knew the best way for him to do that would be simply not to say anything.
He knew, even though Serah had said it wasn’t him that had hurt her, she would still blame him. He didn’t care what Lightning thought of him, this time, she couldn’t help Serah, or ease her pain. He watched her lower her fist, and he caught the glare, returning her with a raised eyebrow and a little bit of a glare as well, though not as cold as her own. He didn’t respect her like she wanted him…everyone too, that was probably what made him angry with her. He didn’t speak at the moment though, instead, he simply watched as the sisters spoke to each other.

Serah looked down at the question, she couldn't answer her sister and she couldn't show her her mark too scared of what Lightning's reaction might be. It was easier to show Snow but Serah knew her sister won't accept this easily. What if this lead Lightning to hate her or view her as an enemy would she lose her sister?
"No one......" Serah replied lying to her question knowing Lightning would not rest till she gets who ever hurt her, but in this case they were fal'Cie. She couldn't involve her sister in this or even tell her out of fear. Serah's hand still covered her mark but she looked up forcing a smile to appear on her lips. "I was just upset over something that happened but I am alright now....."
