Zack Fair
Zack was tired. He didn't know why he had come back. He had met Cloud, but he had gone somewhere. He had to do something, which Zack didn't know what. He was tired, but his eyes were still sharp. He looked around, his blue eyes searching the village he was in. Midgar was quite the site, what had happened to the once thriving city? He was now in neibelhiem. glancing around, he wondered where everyone was. Cloud had told him that Tifa and Aerith were in Neibelheim, but he hadn't seen them yet.
He stopped for a moment. He was right outside the Inn. It looked a lot different from when he had last seen the town. He put his hands on his hips. Turning around, his eyes took in the "backwater" village of Neibelheim.
His sword hung on his back, he liked the feel of it being there. he felt new, completely alive. Cloud and he had figured out that he was actually back...alive. He hadn't known for sure, but they had determined that.
He wished to see Aerith, but would he know Tifa? He didn't know, she had been awefully young the last time he had seen her. Plus, the last time he had seen her, she had told him she hated him. He sighed. Being in SOLDIER wasn't bad, but since Sephiroth had killed her father, he could see why she might hate him. He wondered what it was going to be like. Would she still hate him? would she be angry he was back?
He didn't know. But right then, he didn't really care. He was back. He would deal with her anger if she still hated him like that. He glanced around, wondering if there was a bar in Neibelheim. He wished he could have a strong drink...right then he could use it. Cloud had mentioned that Sephiroth might be coming back. That didn't scare him except that he didn't want to face him again. His ex friend, he didn't want to be forced to go up against him again. All this time, he stood with his hands on his hips, beside the Inn.

Why was she even there? Tifa didn't know, she thought she was already over what happened but a part of her still couldn't forget the past. As she looked at her home town all those memories, just came back. All those screams filled with pain and sadness just floated back into her mind. "This wasn't such a good idea" She said turning to walk back to the inn.
There was another surprise for her, one that Tifa didn't know and it was just waiting around the corner. It was just that she didn't think she would meet anyone there especially someone who she thought was dead for a long time.
Tifa remembered one thing that really bothered her, well it was what she said to Zack a first class soldier. At that time she was just so consumed by her anger and sadness that she lost control of what came out of her mouth, but if she knew that would be the last thing that he would hear from her then she would have tried to hold that anger inside. Tifa regretted her words ever since that day and wished that there was some way to take them back.
She let out a sighed why was she thinking too much about the past right now? She did hope that Zack would comeback when Aerith returned but it's been a month since then and she gave up hope. She shook her head to get that though away."I didn't take the day off to come here and sob about my past….." She reminded herself as she got up and walked down the stairs and outside. Just then, Tifa saw him and dropped her bag. "Zack……" She couldn't believe her eyes was he really standing there?

Zack Fair
Zack leaned against the wooden beam. He sighed deeply, wondering where to look for Aerith. So far, he hadn’t seen her at all, although he hadn’t been back for that long. Running his right hand through his pitch black spiky hair, he contemplated where he should go. Was there anyone here yet? He had seen a few people, but not all that many. Not that there had been a lot of people in Neibelheim’s glory days.
Sighing, he rubbed his foot back and forth, scrapping against the wood. It made a quiet scrapping noise. He was thinking. Cracking his neck, he started to do some squats. He did squats anytime he was unsure of himself. Stopping, he looked around again. He was going to go to the mansion. He wondered if it would Look the same as it had before. Quite a few years had gone by since he had been there last. Thinking of dragging an unconscious Cloud through the newly constructed Neibelheim brought a scowl to his face. It had all started with Hojo, and as far as Zack knew, the mad scientist was still alive.
He uncrossed his arms, and scanned back and forth before starting to take a step. He froze suddenly when he heard his name called. Whipping around, his hand reached back for his sword. He wasn’t going to be caught without a drawn sword. He stopped when he saw a beautiful young woman. He raised his eyebrows, and his hand went back down to his side. She certainly didn’t seem like part of darkness, but you could never tell.
He narrowed his eyes slightly. Pushing back his sword, he straitened up. Eyes looked at her, but he couldn’t seem to place her. She seemed so familiar, but he didn’t exactly know who she was. His brain raced, but still no good. He had been paid to be observant, and now, he couldn’t figure out who she was. “Yeah, that’s me.” He spoke softly, before putting his hands behind his head, “but How do you know my name?” [/color]

For a few seconds Tifa just looked at him in disbelieve. Were her eyes deceiving her or was Zack really back from the Lifesteams? She stood there waiting for him to turn and face her, and saw the confusion in his eyes. Did he not know her or, just didn't recognize her? She let out a chuckle shaking her head.
"You don't remember me……" Well she expected something like that. Zack was dead for some time and even though he still looked the same as before she didn't. The last time they met she was only a fifteen year old girl.
"Oh I am……." But Tifa paused remembering her last words to Zack
{"I hate you…... I hate Shinra…….I hate soldier……… I hate you all"}
She never forgot those words and always regretted saying them ever since that day. "I am Tifa Lockhart…." She said brushing a few strands of her hair back and tucked them behind her ear. "I was the one who gave you the tour when you came on the mission with……. With Sephiroth" She explained with a sigh at the name Sephiroth. She hated saying his name or even hearing it, that was the only person she could never forgive.

Zack Fair Zack stood silently, his mind racing from every face he could remember. When she spoke first, he shook his head. He was about to apologize because he somehow knew he should know her. The problem was, he was thinking about what people would look like the last time he had seen them. He had forgotten that they would look different. It had been at least 5 years. Her eyes…they were brown, but…a little red tinge. He should know those eyes, but he didn’t.
He was about to ask her name, but he hesitated a moment. He felt bad that he didn’t remember her, since she obviously remembered him. It was right in the front of his brain, but it just wouldn’t come to him. He could see that she was deep in thought.
When she spoke her name, a big smile came onto his mouth. Tifa! Of course, now that he looked closer, she was Tifa! The last time he had seen her, she had been about 15, she sure had changed. He was naturally outgoing and happy most of the time, and for a second he forgot that she might still hate him.
“Tifa!” He grinned, before having it hit him that the last time he had spoke to her, she had hated him. “Uh…er…Heya!” he spoke a little more hesitantly now, his eyebrows rose. She seemed extremely surprised to see him. Not that he blamed her; after all, he had been dead for years now. He cocked his head, eyes searching her own. “Sorry…I didn’t…well…you just…look so different now!” He spoke softly, a little guarded, stumbling a little bit, not knowing quite how she would react. “I…uh…Cloud said you and…Aerith were here in Neibelheim…” He grinned again, “I guess he was speaking the truth!”

He finally remembered her. Tifa gave a small smile before letting it fade. "Yeah..... its me" She paused taking one step back what should she say now. "Um....." Dose he still remember her last words... she wanted to apologize but how to start? "No its fine.... I know I have changed since the last time we met."
"So you met Cloud already? He didn't tell me you were back or anything. Aerith was here with me but she left she said there was something she had to do." She paused glancing back at the inn then back at him.
She noticed from his respond and the way he acted that Zack was being cautious around her. He wasn't normally like this, at least thats what she remembered. 'He must still remember those words.' She thought with a sighed. "Zack.... um about what I told you before....." She tried to search for the words to ask for his forgiveness.

Zack Fair
Zack rocked back on his heels before righting himself. She sure has changed... He knew Cloud loved Tifa...he always had. He remembered the last time he had been in Neibelheim, Cloud hadn't wanted to talk to Tifa because he was so scared that she would think him a failure for not being in SOLDIER. He smiled to himself, that was probably the best thing for Cloud...to not have been in SOLDIER. He hadn't blamed Tifa for what she had said. After all, Sephiroth had been the reason for her father's death. not that it had been ShinRa as a whole, but Sephiroth, who had basically been the symbol for ShinRa, had been the one to go crazy.
He sighed, "Yeah, when I...came back, I was in Midgar...Cloud found me there, wondering why I was there..." His broad shoulder's slumped a little when she mentioned that Aerith wasn't there. Would he ever be able to see her again?
He pulled out her last letter...that he had received a short time before his death. Crumbled, faded, it was still there, he still had it. He glanced up, trying not to show the sadness in his heart. Was he here for a reason...that didn't include Aerith. Or rather, was he going to have to die again...and not seeing Aerith would just make it easier?
Clearing his throat, he pushed the letter back into his pocket. It reminded him that he was going to have to get out of his SOLDIER clothes. He didn't want to be in them, after all, he wasn't exactly in SOLDIER any more anyway. He shrugged before putting his hand on his forehead. The air was still...awkward, he could feel that...the tension. They were both thinking of the same thinking of the same moment, which had happened years ago. It didn't even matter anymore, but yet, that stupid tension was there. "I...I don't know if I will ever see Aerith again..."
He didn't even know why he had spoken, but the words came out. He didn't know what else to say. He shook his head, turning a little bit away from Tifa, before she spoke again. he was embarrassed that he had said the last thing. He didn't know Tifa enough to just start telling her everything...or did he? occ: Sorry crappy post! xP

"Well I..... I am sorry about what I said to you before.... I wanted to apologize to you ever since that day but I never got the chance" Tifa explained as she looked at Zack and just hoped he would accept her apology event when it was this late. She smiled again. "So Cloud knew, but he didn't tell me anything or that you might be coming here. I guess this was the surprise he was talking about."
At the mention of Aerith's name Tifa saw the disappointment in Zack's eyes. He was probably hoping to see her and at his response she knew she was right but was he giving up? "Hey thats not the Zack Fair I used to know....... I mean you used to be so energetic confident and full of life. The hard part is over and your both are back. You will get to see her soon just don't give up this easily." Tifa hated to see anyone depressed and always tried her best to cheer them all. Even now she was still that same girl who tried to help everyone and put a smile on their faces.

Zack's eyes got really wide when she spoke again. Was she...actually apologizing? He had never thought she would...at least not to him. Her deep hatred for SOLDIER...Sephiroth...ShinRa...he didn't think she would ever be able to look at him without those feelings of hate washing over her. Not that he could blame her, after what they had all done to her...to Cloud. He stood still, thinking.
"Well...its not like anyone can blame you for apologizing...its not like I was around after that all happened!" He spoke with a teasing voice, his real self was coming back. But he got serious for a moment. "But Tifa...I understand, and I never blamed you for your feelings! In the same situation, I might have reacted the same way!" He spoke with sincerity in his voice.
Smiling once again, he shook his head a bit, "I should be a surprise...after being dead for years...I should at least be able to scare some people...its more fun that way!" He crossed his arms, and scrapped his foot against the ground once again. That smile was still on his face, his eyes twinkled.
When she spoke about Aerith again, he sighed once more, softly. "I know Tifa...But its just..." He stopped himself. This wasn't like him at all! Tifa was right, he wasn't supposed to be depressed and sad, it just wasn't like him! Holding his arms out, he paused before letting them fall to his sides. Nodding, he suddenly hit his left hand with his right fist. "Your right Tifa!" he would leave the depressed and withdrawn feelings for Cloud, he wasn't going to let it bother him any more! His eyes resolved, he put his hands behind his head, "Thanks!"

"Zack" Tifa sighed in relief. Not only did he accept her apology but he didn't blame her for those words. That took a lot of weighs of her shoulders. "Well better late than never right, oh and welcome back Zack."
"I should be a surprise...after being dead for years...I should at least be able to scare some people...its more fun that way!"
At those words Tifa couldn't help but letting out a laugh "Well you have been dead for sometime, so if people seeing walking down the street they will think your a ghost or something." That was Zack he always found a way to look at things for a positive perspective. Most people would be depressed for being dead for quite sometime but he seemed that he wasn't.
"Thats the Zack I know and your welcome. So what are you doing back here?"

Zack smiled when Tifa laughed. He had meant what he said, he did think it was funny how people reacted when they saw him. Cloud's mouth had dropped so far down he had a hard time getting it back up. It had been interesting to say the least.
And Tifa...She had stopped dead when she had seen him. But he really couldn't blame them. He just wasn't so surprised at people coming back to life anymore. Angeal...Genesis, they had come "back to life" more times then he would have liked them too. Just when he had actually thought they were dead, there they were again. He had ceased to be amazed at this after the first few times. Tifa and Cloud however, weren't exactly used to everyone coming back to life like he was. Sephiroth was really the only person that kept coming back.
Nodding, he ran his hand through his hair, eyes glancing at her, filled with a happy sparkle. When she asked what he was doing back, he shook his head. His twinkling blue eyes became serious, but not depressed at all. "Tifa...in all honesty, I have no idea why I am back!" Shrugging, he leaned back against the wooden pillar behind him. "I have a few different ideas, but so far, I haven't been able to tell exactly what it is I'm doing here again...not that I mind being here! I like having a second chance!" He spoke with a quiet voice, almost thinking his words to himself as he spoke them. He really didn't know. Was it simply to have a second chance at life? Or was it more? Was it helping Cloud defeat the darkness? No...Tifa must have that under control. Helping defeat Sephiroth? Was Genesis back? ShinRa? He had a million questions floating around his head.

Tifa let another chuckle escape her lips before returning to smile as she looked at Zack. "You seem to be having fun." She said bending to grab the bag she dropped earlier. Everyone though seemed to be coming back from the Lifestreams as if it was unstable. 'Cloud this have something to do with the Darkness.....' she wondered that that was just another question to add to her list.
In this case it was a good thing. "I am not sure what the reason is but what ever it is I am glad your back Zack. You can help us in the fight against Sephiroth and the Darkness, and also it will help Cloud alot knowing that your here. Maybe he can stop feeling guilty most the time."

nodding, he cocked his eyebrow, "You bet I'm having fun! I only have one time to scare everyone badly with coming back to life!" He chuckled to himself, "Or at least...I hope its the last time I get too..." He shrugged, "Not that I don't like dying....its just I would rather not..." His hair waved slightly in the wind. "I wonder slightly how I even got back...how is it, that many of the people I know that have died have been brought back to life from the lifestream?"
He shrugged, "I just think it's odd!" Seeing her pick up the bag she had dropped, he held out his hand. "Hey, want me to carry that for ya?" He waited a moment, and heard her speak once again. He shook his head.
"I hear ya about Cloud. Man, he seemed to blame himself for my death...it wasn't even his fault!" glancing out of the corner of his eye at Tifa, he wondered about how her and Cloud were getting along. Cloud had said that they were doing great together. His thoughts turned to Sephiroth. So he was back..."Sephiroth..." He said slowly, not wanting to get too close to a touchy subject with Tifa.
"Uh...yeah...Sephiroth...I'll help you fight him any day! He is insane, and should be stopped!" but with how unstable the lifestream was, it seemed unlikely that Sephiroth would stay away forever, instead, it seemed like he would continue to come back! He didn't like the thought...

"Yeah...... he just keeps coming back. This must be the third or fourth time he escaped the Lifestream." Tifa said with a sighed. She hated the fact that Sephiroth just kept coming back. Why won't he just stay dead? Shaking her head to get rid of that thought Tifa returned to look at Zack with another smile. "You must have enough worries on your mind without mentioning Sephirtoth so let's try and forget him for now" She added turning to look at the streets filled with people.
They all walked without a care on their mind. Did they know what was happening to the worlds or did they simply didn't care? "Sometimes I wish I was like that...... just living live without worrying too much about everyone and what's going to happen."
Tifa turned to face Zack again at the mention of Cloud, and smiled with nodded in agreement "Yeah now that you and Aerith are back he won't have to keep blaming himself for letting you die..... actually he is been doing a lot better." She paused for a monument wondering if he know what happened between the two that they were together now?

Zack sighed, he hadn't known Sephiroth had come back that many times. Although, he had been dead, so he didn't exactly know what had been going on without him at all times. Shaking his head, his eyes glanced at Tifa, "That many times...? wow, that guy must really know how to get outta there by now..." He swung his arms a little while they walked slowly.
Zack shrugged at her words. Sure, he had a little bit to worry about, the first thing on his mind was finding Aerith. He didn't mind talking about Sephiroth though. In fact, though he didn't like it, he had to prepare himself sometime. He was going to have to deal with him at one point or another, so he was thinking about his old friend a lot anyway. However, knowing Tifa the little bit he did, he didn't think she enjoyed talking about him, so it was better to just drop him from their conversation. "Sure...don't like talking about him anyway..."
He was always watching people...average people. He didn't know what it would even feel like to be "average" anymore. He hadn't been average for so long. Part of him wondered how they did it. They did the same thing every day of their life. Must be boring! He let his eyes fall on the people, who didn't have time to do anything but the same thing. "gotta be boring...just doing the same thing every day of their lives!" Arching his brows, he contemplated, "Then again...I don't exactly know what a "normal" life would be like...maybe it isn't so boring!"
He turned to her, "I hope Cloud doesn't always feel like what happened was his fault. I haven't been able to tell him that it wasn't...I guess I should do that soon eh?" He scratched his head, "I'm glad he's doing a bit better!" His mind turned to Aerith once again. Where was she? What was she doing? He wanted to know, but knew he was going to have to just wait and see. "So...what are you doing in Neibelheim?"
