Haven't the PSICOM attacked you already?" Squall sighed a bit annoying way too..... "I don't know about PSICOM...How could they have betrayed me? Look I think this whole thing is just crazy...I'm not going to kill some one I've known more than two hours....." Squall looked at his watch....It was spinning out of control....Was it because he was in another world....? He took it off and placed it in his jacket's pocket.....And looked back up at her....Damn! Just when he was about to make amends with her she drew her sword at him!! He backed away slowly......And had his hands now raised..... "Whoa!! Hey! Don't you know an apology when you see one?!! I'm not liking this idea Lightning! I might have been misled here....Just as you might have been about me.....I'm not a killer! At least not unless my world is under attack.....Come on now relax...Let's at least try and start over...." |

Lightning let out a laugh as he lowered his sword and apologized again, but she didn't do the same and kept hers up and pointed at Squall. "This is the second time you point your weapon at me. Just because you lowered yours doesn't mean I will do the same. Better think about your actions before carrying them out."
She knew his reason for coming to Cocoon now. He wasn't some lost traveler as she thought he was, no he was a mercenary hired by Cocoon's government to kill her. Now that he revealed that part how would she trust him or even lower her weapon? He was an enemy now even though he was hesitant to fight just being hired by her world's government made them enemies.
She only smiled however at that thought, this was the best they could do, hire a mercenary from another world to finish their job. She let out another laugh were they that desperate to dispose of her, now that she was a I'Cie they treated her like any other monster from Pulse. She worked with them for years and now this is how they replay her.
Looking at Squall she knew she could not trust him now that he revealed his purpose for coming to Cocoon, but his words about wanting to return to his word seemed honest and truthful. but she wouldn't be deluded by that in case it was a trap.
She might have believed him before which was why she helped him but she didn't have a reason to do so now. She was taught to never let her guard down in the presence of an enemy. Although she couldn't quite determine if he really was an enemy or not yet.
"They are here..." A soldier from PSICOM cried out as they found the two and formed a circle around them aiming their guns at Lightning and Squall. She sighed turning to face them. Her hand still gripped her weapon tight as she looked at the ones in front of her waiting for an attack. "It seems they have giving up on you and are taking matters into their own hands again" She added turning to glance at Squall.

Squall scoffed with his mouth closed....As he looked her dead in the eyes....."They are here..." "It seems they have giving up on you and are taking matters into their own hands again"
What an ambush? This couldn't be right....Was she right? Had they given up on him? What an army to lead......Squall was deeply disappointed....But it was not like that he had a soft spot for these guys....They were just there to help along with this little mission.....As she turned to face him...so did he and grabbed his own gunblade and struck it out towards her throat! His eyes cut through her own....There was no more mercy in his eyes either....He's had it with her....They send him to kill and that is exactly what he was going to carry out.......No words were said at this moment....."You've wasted enough of my time!"

Turning against her Lightning somehow anticipated this she glanced at the PSICOM then back at Squall. Their was no fear or hate in her eyes not even panic. She was once like him taking missions and doing what she was told without objections till that day came where she had to choose between Serah and her job and of course she chose her sister.
"A soldier... I was once that. I'll tell you one little thing the reason why I left these them and why we are now on opposite sides. They threatened my sister they wanted to end her life I let on my own decision and they turned against me... What would you have done if someone you care about was threatened."
She asked but didn't waste time and activated her Gravity Bomb to create an electrical shield around her allowing her to defy gravity. She jumped to stand on the ceiling for a few seconds before landing a few feet away from Squall as she looked at him.
"And this is one reason why I know I can't trust you" She said lifting her gunblade to point it at Squall she didn't care about the PSICOM. She always fought them and they were easy to stop if the government wanted her dead they had to do better than that.

Squall remained in a fight stance with his sword at her throat....But she was right...He could not imagine life with out Rinoa....Her words stuck with him that moment....He even forgotten about the guards that were betraying him right now....
"And this is one reason why I know I can't trust you" Squall looked at her questionably...As she remained in her position....She hated no despises him....All because he was working for PSICOM....He then just witnessed another power she had....
"Lightning, you asked what it would be like if I had some that cared about me...And lose them....Well, you're going to destroy my fiance's heart if you end my life right now!!! I've never tried to hurt your sister.....and I won't....Obviously, these guys hate my guts now just as badly as they do yours! We can get them together.....What'd ya say? Come on!! It's your one more chance to see your sister again!!"

Lightning sighed still gripping her Blaze Edge tightly in her hand only allowing it to swing and transform into a gun before pointing it at Squall. She frowned listening to his words one minute he wanted to fight her and the second to join sides? ‘What is going through his mind?’ She wondered and why would the Sanctum hire someone like him? So many questions… maybe in the past she would have wanted answers but right now she really didn't care and nothing changed what she had to do.
Diverting her eyes she turned to glare at the group of PSICOM gathered around them. ‘They never give up...' She knew that much about the army after all she used to be one of them but a higher rank soldier. More will come soon she didn’t doubt that but to stand and fight them all was just a waste of time and strength. Other battles lied ahead and with her mission she knew things would only get harder, for that she preferred to reserve her strength for what required that. With the PSICOM everyday was the same either dispose of them quickly or finding another route to take…
Lightning paused lowering her gunblade but didn’t fold it just yet. For now she would pick another option other than fighting. As for Squall she chose to believe his words for now but if he tried anything she would only leave him to deal with those PSICOM and find his way to his world on his own.
"I don't have time for this" She exhaled with another sigh escaping her lips. Soon waves of mauve light surrounded her. Closing her eyes Lightning lifted her hand up to her chest resting it on top of her l’Cie mark. "I call you now..." She muttered those words under her breath to call forth her Eidolon. A violet rose shaped crystal materialized in her hand and glimmered under the light.
Slowly opening her eyes Lightning let a faint yet clear smile form on her lips. She didn’t even bother to look up at the soldiers their presence no longer bothered her. Glancing down at her Blaze Edge and swung to change it back to a sword before tossing her crystal high up and followed with a jumped. Once both came in contact her crystal broke but filled the space with lilac light before he appeared Odin a gigantic horned knight wearing a white cape and wielding a large double-sided sword.
Still in the air she dived towards him to flip and land swiftly on the ground and waited for his transformation into Gestalt Mode, a stallion for her to ride. Once on she turned to stretch her hand towards Squall "choose now do you want to stay here or come with me?"She asked ignoring the aimed guns ready to fire.

Squall was in awe at the sight he just saw Lightning perform. So some how she had the ability to summon creatures to her aid! And with that crystal that glowed like a purplish color...on her chest...He was stunned then as Lightning did another attack on the soldiers that were determined on killing them both now...What other choice did Squall have? If he stayed, he would die...And that would break Rinoa's heart to pieces.....
And right then, Squall took a hold of Lightning's hand and a yellowish light serged about their hands...Was this meant to be? Were they meant to be friends after all? Squall was just stunned that the Light came from her and serged on his own hand....He was doing the right thing...The Light always knew what was right and who was the good guy....Obviously Lightning was good then....
"Okay...Let's get the hell out of here!!"
Squall smiled at her for the first time...He was feeling some thing good from Lightning...Why was he asked to kill her? He knew he could not do that now...She was so cold though....Would he be able to tolerate that? He had to for now....Maybe she could help him with his own attitude problem....He never hurt his friends physically though just emotionally....
