Roxas
“Why did the Keyblade choose me? I have to know.”
Age: Fifteen
Family: None (Naminé--sister Nobody of sorts)
Race: Nobody
Side: Light
Job: Thirteenth member of the Organization (discontinued)
Items: None
Accessories: Carries a blue bauble and pouch from the data Twilight Town
Personality: Roxas isn’t as cuddly as his demure Other, Sora, but he does tend to get a little warm and fuzzy around his friends. Otherwise his personality is a bit more like Riku’s, treating strangers with wary politeness and potential aggressors with suspicion and sometimes outright anger. He can even get a little prickly around his friends, but it depends on who it is; if it’s someone like Olette or Xion, he’s more likely to be gentle. If it’s Axel or Hayner, either prepare for boyish joshing or bring on the snarks.
Initially coming into the Organization, Roxas was far less interesting. As a Nobody, he has no honest feelings and everything he expresses is essentially a farce brought on by his scattered memories and conforming to what he sees around him. When he drops his mask, he's just a faceless, emotionless shell--a zombie of a child toddling around with a weapon he doesn't have the capacity to understand.
History: Roxas was born from Sora when Sora used Riku’s dark Keyblade to liberate both Kairi’s heart and his own from his chest. Xemnas found him and offered him a place in the Organization, a purpose, and so Roxas accepted and ultimately met Axel and Xion, whom he grew close with. But Xion couldn’t be persuaded to stay with the Organization and eventually Roxas followed in her footsteps, abandoning Axel and falling into DiZ’s hands. His memory of the Organization was wiped, and Roxas spent seven days in DiZ’s data Twilight Town, trying to understand what was happening to him even as the false life with Hayner, Pence, and Olette fell to pieces around his ears.
At this point he met Naminé, who explained to him that he was never actually meant to exist and that he was a part of Sora that needed to be returned. Roxas was understandably dismayed, but as he became involved in a tug of war between DiZ and Axel (who had fought his way into the data Twilight Town to find him), it became apparent that he had no real choice in the matter.
The final straw was when his friends stopped paying attention and became the data shadows that they always were in reality. Roxas escaped Axel, now bent on destroying him, and got to the mansion to speak to Naminé. But DiZ seized her and moved to escape with his cloaked aide, who warned him that Nobodies were flooding the dimension. Roxas headed down to the basement, where he encountered and fought with Axel, regaining most of his memories of the Organization in the process. Axel was captured by DiZ and Roxas moved on to fuse with Sora, as he was meant to.
That didn’t stop him from challenging the Keybearer when Sora reached the World That Never Was, demanding to know why the Keyblade chose him: the same question Roxas had left the Organization to answer. When Sora defeated him, Roxas decided he made a good other, and didn’t give his original self any further resistance.
Instead he met with the shadow of Axel on the clocktower in Twilight Town only briefly, just long enough to share some ice cream and theorize as they used to about hearts and--finally--to say their goodbyes.
He also got a chance to speak with Naminé one more time at the Altar of Naught before surrendering to Sora completely.
Weapon: Keyblade (can dual-wield the Oblivion and Oathkeeper under specific circumstances)
Ability:
Dual Stance: Rushes at the opponent and strikes with light speed if not deflected.
Light Shields: Roxas has thirteen, and can shoot orbs of light through them while being protected.
Limit: Increases his striking range through the power of light and finishes with blinding explosions that cover a wide area.
Glide: Enables Roxas to essentially “fall with style,” coasting on air currents to the ground.
Magic:
Fire: Manifests in a fireball, capable of homing (Fire), enhanced power (Fira), or extreme destructive impact (Firaga); it appears as a fireball in all three cases, but Firaga calls for a more roundabout attack that circumvents a block by hitting the target from above.
Blizzard: Attacks outright (Blizzard) or sets an icy trap for the victim (Blizzara and Blizzaga), resulting in damage and freezes them briefly to allow for a sound beating.
Thunder: Calls down the wrath of the heavens in scattered strikes (Thunder and Thundara) or one brief, devastating bolt (Thundaga).
Cure: Utilizes the power of plants to heal, resulting in a quick burst (Cure), a more gradual regeneration (Cura), or reserves a section of the battlefield to thoroughly heal (Curaga).
Crushes: Roxas doesn't specifically have any crushes. He could be said to have superficial romantic feelings for Kairi, but these are based completely on Sora's, which are based completely on hormones. His relationship with Naminé is more like the bond between brother and sister, especially since she seems to take more of an interest in Sora, but there's potential there. Axel and Xion are both his best friends and he sees them as nothing more and nothing less. The only person he might truly feel for, if Sora feels for him, is Riku. But that's only through Sora; any original feelings of Roxas's own, were he ever to impossibly engender them towards Riku, would be of hatred.
