Go now to Hades's domain and bring me his faithful hound. The Cerberus still pines for its fallen master, but we need its ferocity among the Heartless during this battle. I can no longer wait for Hades to resurface, and I can hardly trust him even when he is working with us. Do not fail me.
Again with the instructions of her mistress, Rydia was dispatched on a mission. She was tired from overwork and little sleep, but she kept pushing herself to go on. The only time she felt peace was when she could be with the monsters and ease their pain, or when she could be with the Heartless and let them drain away all her feeling. In between she felt harried and unable to relax and certainly never sleep. So she pressed on.
Hades had fallen into the deep pit of souls, and had not yet resurfaced, so it was assumed he was stuck there and Maleficent had no intention of helping him out. Instead she was only concerned with getting more power by taking some of the monsters Hades always used. The chief of these was Cerberus, the great three-headed dog.
Rydia walked quickly through the underground caverns 'til she came to the place where Cerberus stood and waited for his master to come back. The great dog looked forlorn and was clearly missing Hades.
"Cerberus... I've come to take you..." Rydia said, stepping forward cautiously, readying the spell of darkness that would consume Cerberus's heart and turn him into a Heartless. However, as she walked forward Cerberus turned and lowered all six of his ears, letting out a deep, rumbling growl.
"...!?" Rydia froze, and saw that this monster was not like the others she had tamed. Cerberus was not something she could control, no matter how much she tried to use her monster empathy. The Eidolons were all intelligent, almost deity creatures, but this was nothing but a hound of hell, bound heart and soul to the master of hell. Maleficent was capable of controlling the forces of hell, but it was impossible for a little girl to do so. She felt fear overcome her, and she fell down while trying to back away.
"Help me!" Rydia cried, suddenly becoming just a normal little girl again in her fear as Cerberus leaped forward, aiming to swallow her in one bite!
