Reminded him of her those words brought a smile to her face. From the day she turned to a I'Cie all she did was cry, but now she was smiling again and it was all thanks to Snow. "I love being here..... watching the fireworks with you. if you didn't convince me to come I wouldn't even be here." Smiling for now seemed like a better alternative than locking herself in her room to sob most of the time.
"Snow....." He asked her to marry him that was something she didn't expect especially after turning to a I'Cie. Being with her would only endanger his life. He was a hero to some in Cocoon. If he was seen with a I'Cie what would the world or anyone say? She looked at the ring ready to refuse but as she opened her mouth no words came out.
Caught between two decisions Serah sighed looking down at her necklace. the symbol of the love they shared. Could they have a future have the life they wanted? No.... yet he still wanted to be with her regardless of what she was now. "I.... yes...." The answer finally came out and at those words she did smile looking into Snows eyes as he held her hand.

“Well I’m glad I convinced you…because I wouldn’t want to look at fireworks without you....” He knew she cried now, and it hurt him. He had never seen her cry before she had become an I’Cie. She had always been one of the happiest people he knew, but now he didn’t see a smile on her face as much as before, or even barely at all. He hated seeing her when her eyes dulled with sadness or pain, and he was always trying to make her smile. He loved her still, even with what had happened.
He knew what must be running through her mind as she seemed shocked that he had asked her to marry him. He was viewed by many to be a defender of Cocoon, and he would be an enemy if they saw him with her. He didn’t care, he detested Cocoon when he thought of what they would do to his beloved Serah. He didn’t care what they said or did to him, or rather tried to do, all that mattered was Serah. He cringed inwardly at the look in her eyes. At first, they were pain, sadness, like she was thinking of all the reasons why to say no to him. He didn’t want to still be a ‘hero’ to those in Cocoon, he didn’t want anything to do with them if they thought Serah was something to be destroyed.
He saw her look down at her necklace and a little smile tugged at his lips. He wasn’t scared of her answer anymore, if she said no, he would find a way to make her change her mind. He didn’t want her to say no, but he couldn’t force her to say yes either. He didn’t know if they could have a future, but he wanted to find out. He wanted a chance to be with her, somehow, some way he would find a way…
When she said yes, the happiness glowed in his face, in his eyes. He was the luckiest man alive to be able to be with Serah. How could someone like him have a chance with Serah…? “I’m so happy…I love you!” He whispered as he leaned foreword to kiss her, fireworks sparkled around them…

"I am glad you did too...." Apart of her was glad that she came and said yes when he proposed but the other part regretted it. She would only put him in danger if they were seen together he would be targeted too. She wasn't safe to be around she was a I'Cie and enemy to the world. Thats what she kept reminding herself so not to forget. She didn't want anyone getting involved or getting hurt.
She looked down at her hand at the place of her mark. It was cover but she knew it was there. How were they going to be together..... "Lightning how am I going to tell her I am a I'Cie now?" would she hate her or consider her an enemy? She didn't know what to do and only glanced down to her ring. "How are we going to be together I am.....?" She didn't want to saying what she was....

Snow nodded in understanding. Serah looked happier then he had seen her in a long time…so he was happier then ever as well. He lived to be with her, to see her, to touch her, to hear her laugh, to see the sparkle in her eyes. He knew she must be thinking about how being with her would only put him in danger, but he didn’t care if it did. Since she had become one of the I’Cie, he had become more aware of what happened to those he had used to defend Cocoon against. They were different….but had they asked to be like that? No, they hadn’t, so in fact, this had opened his eyes. They were just regular people, like Serah, in the wrong place at the wrong time. He felt regret that he had ever helped the city ‘eliminate’ those that they felt were disrupting the city, threatening it.
He knew that he would now be an enemy to Cocoon, but he truly didn’t care, if being an enemy meant being with Serah….he would do it!! When she looked down at the place where her I’Cie mark was, he reached out, and placing his fingers beneath her chin, he put just enough pressure to lift her head to look at him. “Serah…Lightning loves you so much! Just because you are now a member of the I’Cie…it doesn’t change that! She will still love you…and she will never blame you for what happened! you don’t have to tell her right this moment if you don’t want to…but I will help you tell her if that will make it any easier for you!”
He shook his head, his hand covering hers as he placed his hand over hers. “Serah…I promise I will find a way, if it takes me a thousand years…I’ll do it! I want to be with you Serah…” Picking up her hand, he pressed it to his chest, right above his heart. His heart beat fast, rapidly. “This is the way you make me feel…” Smiling, he met her eyes, his own were calming, loving.

Serah nodded yes having him there would definetly make things a lot easier. She knew it was time to tell her, and she wanted Lightning to hear the truth from her, but thinking of her reaction to this was what worried her. "Your right..... I have to try but now is not the time to be thinking about this right....."
Serah paused turning to look at the firworks to hide the tears that filled her eyes. Crying was something she did a lot these day. When she thought about the future and what might happened, knowing her fate only brough tears to her eyes.
Glancing back at Snow she smiled as their eyes met and tried to hold her pain inside. "I would love that...... to be with you." She wanted nothing more than that just to be with the man she loved, but was it possible with her now being the enemy? Serah continued to gaze into his eyes as he took her hand to press it against his chest. She felt his heart beat and her smile broaded. "I love you...." she always did ever since they first met.

Snow could see that she seemed more relaxed about telling her, yet she was not exactly calm about it. He could just imagine how hard it would be to tell her if he was Serah. He could feel the fear she felt for telling Lightning, he hoped she didn’t over react to what Serah told her when she did. Everything he knew about Lightning told him that she wouldn’t freak out at Serah, but he had never been around her when she had been told anything so serious as this. Serah…an I’Cie, he knew how serious that was, and even he had been shocked when Serah had told him that day at the ruins. Lightning was so withdrawn…she wouldn’t freak at Serah…right?
His soft smile turned the corners of his mouth up. Shaking his head, his hand gentle squeezed hers. She looked back at the fireworks, and he glanced at them as well. He could see the tears illuminated in her eyes by the sparkling fireworks, and his eyes fell, why had it had to be Serah?
“I want to always be with you…no matter what happens, good or bad, I’ll be here…you will always be able to find me there!” He was determined to do just that. He would never let her be alone if it was in his power to be there with her. No matter what Lightning said, he could protect Serah, and he would if something happened to her. “I’ve loved you from the very first time I saw you Serah…no matter what Lightning says, I will always be here for you!” A little chuckle came from his lips as he thought about he and Serah being together. Lightning…she’s going to be my sister!” His eyes twinkled from the thought, “I’m sure she’ll love that!” He grinned, part of him couldn’t wait to see her face when he told her about Serah and him being engaged.

Serah was still worried about telling her sister she was a l'Cie what would her reaction be? She wished she could avoid that but she knew Lightning had to know soon and it was better if she heard it from her. Maybe Snow was right and she was just worrying to much. Lightning always stood by her side to protect her, Serah just hoped she wouldn't hate her for this.
"Snow....." Serah smiled a lot more when he was around. She did cry now but not around him not after that day. She was scared of being considered an enemy to the world of her life ending so soon. It was hard but with Snow by her side some how made it a lot easier for Serah. "You could say it was love at first sight then cause I felt the same." He was always the one that made her laugh and smile. She loved being with him and Snow was someone she couldn't imagine her life without.
"I will find a way for her to accept us together..... she will have to now" She paused glancing down at the ring on her finger. Serah chuckled at the thought just realizing that now "Yeah.... will you start calling her big sister now?"

Snow knew Lightning would be shocked, but being Serah, Lightning wouldn’t be able to resist her cute eyes, the way they sparkled, even when she had tears in her eyes. How could she be angry at her? If Lightning did that, was actually angry with Serah, everything he knew about her would be false, and all the respect for her would disappear. He knew Lightning could never hate Serah, or that’s what he believed. If Lightning did anything to upset Serah, he didn’t care about how much more Lightning would hate him, he would go straiten her out. He wouldn’t let anyone upset Serah on purpose.
Grinning, he looked back down at her, the hardness of his eyes had disappeared, replaced with the loving, gentle look they always had when he was with Serah. “Love at first sight…I know most people don’t believe that…and even I didn’t…until I saw you that first time!” Remembering the first time he had saw her, he sighed happily. “At that second, I believed it!”
Snow sighed, “I’m not sure If Lightning is ready to accept us yet, but we will find a way!” He grinned, “She won’t have much say anymore, since we’re engaged…but she’s going to be mad at me, probably not you, but defiantly me!” Winking at her, he held both her hands. “But that’s alright, she can’t be angry forever right?”
He loved the sound of her chuckling, and laughed along with her. “I’m not sure, you know how much I love to tease her, so maybe I will call her big sister…won’t she be annoyed with me!” His eyes sparkled, “I will tell her soon about us being engaged, I’m sure it will be fine!” Though of course he wasn’t exactly looking foreword to what she would act like when he told her, he couldn’t wait to see her expression on her face. “And Serah…don’t worry about how she will react when you tell her about being one of the I’Cie, she won’t hate you! And I will be right there alongside you if you want me to be there helping you!”

Serah smiled thinking back to when they first met. Before then she didn't believe in that either or in true love, her sister's words were that it didn't exist and she stated to believe it didn't , but after she met Snow everything changed. She wished her sister could see that to see how much Snow meant to her and how serious their relationship was. They were going out for a while and now she was engaged.
"I hope not..... it would be great if she can accept this..... us being together but I won't give up till she does." Serah replied glancing down for few seconds at her ring. She was determent not to give up and some how get her sister to say 'yes'. One thing for sure she knew Lightning wasn't going to like this and probably try harder to separate them.
Another chuckle as she thought of the expression of her sister when Snow might call her big sister. She wouldn't like that differently it would upset her. "Are you sure you want to risk that you know how Lightning is when she is angry....."
A tear fell and she looked down remembering who she was again but she knew Snow was right she had to tell Lightning she needed to hear the truth from her, but how was Lightning going to react, that still worried her.
Serah remembered her fate as a I'Cie a future she didn't have, and a focus that would make her an enemy of the world the thought scared her and she didn't know what to do, but she tried to avoid thinking about that .

Snow knew that Lightning didn’t believe in anything even close to love at first sight. She was a hard woman, strict on herself as well as everyone around her. Personally he thought the only being she ever had or ever could care for was Serah. He didn’t think anyone could dislike Serah. She was so perfect, so sweet, loving, gentle. He didn’t know anyone as sweet as Serah, and yet, when she had her mind set on something she was stubborn about it.
He wished he could persuade Lightning to see how much they loved each other. She didn’t ever seem to even want to see how much they cared for each other. She didn’t want to accept him, she didn’t want to accept them being together. She would rather be in her world where he was worthless and needed to be separated from Serah. He wasn’t going to let that happen, which only made Lightning hate him more.
“She will eventually be able to accept us being together, but in the meantime…all we can do is hope and try to get her to change her mind…” It seemed like wishful thinking that Lightning would ever allow them to be together and not make a huge deal out of it.
he grinned at her chuckling. It was quite the thought, him calling Lightning big sister. They were the same age, but she seemed so much older, so deadly silent and strict. He shrugged and nodded, “She already hates me, I have nothing to loose. I know how she gets, what I don’t know is how she acts when she’s happy…” His eyes sparkled, but he could see that she was worried.
“Hey, its alright, I can handle her being angry…its for us, so it really doesn’t matter right? I can prepare myself for her, it doesn’t worry me, wondering if you would like the ring and say yes scared me way more then this does!” He half smiled, before shaking his head, “I don’t care how she acts, she’s your sister, and that means a lot to me because I love you so much!”

Serah nodded smiling and hoping that her sister would finally accept Snow. Someday she would see how important he was to her, how special and she would have to accept him. "She will one of these days, once she sees how much you mean to me she would have to accept that we are meant to be together and maybe that day she would finally believe in our love....."
Serah smiled before laughing. "Lightning when she is happy..... its vary rear but when she is in a good mood she smiles and laughs like everyone else....." Remembering her sister she rarely laughed or even smiled, but when she did it was worth it.
"Snow....." Serah's eyes soon filled with tears and she glanced down to hide them. All she wanted was to be with him will she still have that chance? To have a future with him? She still wasn't close to completing her focus or even knew what it was. Would she make it? ll this did was scare her and soon those tears fell down her cheeks.

Snow hoped that lightning would in fact accept him. He didn’t know why she hated him with such a passion, but she did. One day he was going to talk things through with her. Tifa had suggested talking with her, and though he didn’t think that would help all that much, it was worth a shot! He grinned, “Lightning is just going to have to fall in love herself, then she’ll know how we feel about each other!” the thought was so unlike lightning. “Somehow I don’t think that will be happening to soon though…she isn’t really the fall in love type is she…”
He looked into the distance, before looking at Serah as she spoke about Lightning being happy. What if things had been different for Lightning? If life had been easier on her? Would she be happier? He didn’t know, but he would like to see her happy, so see that side of her. All he had ever seen of her was the Lightning that hated him, was serious and deadly, no hint of happiness on her face.
“So she isn’t always trying to kill someone?” He grinned, “I would like to see her happy…just once! Maybe by the time we get married, she will accept us and be happy then!” He smiled at the thought, that would be great, both for Serah and himself, he hoped by that time Lightning would be happy with them together. Somehow he thought it would be awhile before they could get married, but he didn’t tell Serah that. No matter what, he would find a way for them to be together! No matter how long it took, what he had to do, he would be with her, he didn’t want to be with anyone else!
He saw her tears and pulled her close. He didn’t want her to cry, he wanted her to be happy! “Shhh, its ok Serah, I’ll help you, we will find a way, don’t worry about what the future will bring!” He stroked her hair with his hand, trying to sooth her.

Serah chuckled at the thought of her sister falling in love. She didn't know if that would ever happen. There were some who wanted to ask Lightning out but Serah remembered her sister scaring them all away. "I don't think that would happen with Lightning but it would be good for her or at least if she does accept our love someday....."
Serah knew her sister rarely smiled but when she did it was worth seeing. Lightning always tried to hide her emotions thinking they were her weakness but there were times when they did show. "You will get a chance to someday I am sure... she tries to hide them to try and be stronger.... but still she smile and laughs."
Serah sighed as she stopped and looked up at Snow before crying. She was scared of the future of what it might bring. She wanted to get married to him but will that day ever come? She didn't even know her focus of if she would be able to finish it.... a lot of things scared her and she just cried there in his arms.

Snow smiled at Serah chuckling, it was a crazy thought. Somehow he just couldn’t see Lightning falling in love, with anyone. He wondered who would even be good enough to have her fall in love with. Probably someone perfect…
Although, he smiled a bit, he himself had found someone perfect, so Lightning could some day too! He nodded as she spoke. “yeah, it would, if she would fall in love herself, she would understand they way we feel!” He grinned a little mischievously, “so, who do we know that we could have Lightning fall in love with?” After a little laugh he couldn’t resist, “How bout’ Maqui?” He couldn’t hold his laughing back, for some reason he couldn’t even imagine Lightning putting up with Maqui for any more time then she did him. Maqui, he liked the kid, he was a great kid, and he knew Serah knew him. Somehow, he just knew Lightning wouldn't like him.
His eyes sparkled as he looked down at her. “I’m thinking if I want to see it, then I’m gonna have to hide a videocamera somewhere!” He loved these little moments with Serah, somehow he didn’t know if they would last for very long before something big would happen. He held her tight as she remembered again. He wished he could make everything that had happened go away for her! He couldn’t, but he was never going to leave her!
He was going to marry Serah, someday, this would all be over, he would find a way for that! He held her and stroked her hair as she cried. He wanted her to be happy, but she had to cry, he knew that. How could she stay sane if she didn’t cry?

"Don't count on that thought but maybe she would someday....... Lightning deserves to be happy." Serah could only hope that her sister would find love or something to make her smile. "Maqui......" Serah chuckled Maqui was the last one she could imagine Lightning to be in love or even putting up with.
"Is that the best you can think of if Lightning hears this she might try and kill you....." Serah joked but knowing her sister she probably would. Lightning took everything too seriously. She never took days off from work not even on her birthday. Serah had to argue with Lightning for days to get her to stay home for just one night.
She was planning a surprise for her sister and to introduce Snow then, but nothing went as planned and she turned to a l'Cie, after that night nothing was ever the same. "It would be great for her to fall in love. Then she would know how we feel but it has to be with someone I don't know..... maybe a soldier like she is, or someone just like her...... Maybe then she would accept us together."
Looking back at the fireworks she could only wish for two things, one to find the courage to tell her sister what she has become and two that Lightning would somehow accept Snow. She smiled looking at those fireworks Serah always looked forward to seeing them. "They are beautiful..... aren't they?"
